Founder
At the heart of Edelsy is Dr. Eloise Symonds. As an education consultant, Eloise specialises in designing, developing, and delivering courses and programmes fit for the digital age. Her portfolio includes collaborations with universities, corporations, charities, and schools.
Eloise’s extensive experience spans traditional and online education, making her consultancy valuable across diverse educational contexts. Her work extends beyond the bounds of higher education and applies to any context where effective teaching and learning are paramount. With a firm foundation in both traditional and digital pedagogy, Eloise brings a wealth of applicable expertise to various educational scenarios.
Eloise earned her PhD in Educational Research from Lancaster University. Her work, anchored in practical experience and enriched by research, has found a home in numerous esteemed academic journals such as Critical Studies in Education, British Journal of Sociology of Education, and Arts & Humanities in Higher Education. Furthermore, her insights have been encapsulated in two textbooks published by Routledge. Her research primarily explores the dynamics between students and faculty in higher education, viewing education through lenses of power, consumerism, and collaboration.
Prior to Edelsy, Eloise held a key position as Head of Research and Training in Digital Education for an online learning platform. There, she worked closely with global Business Schools to enhance their digital education strategies. Eloise believes in the importance of bridging the gap between research and practice, using data to inform effective teaching and learning strategies in context.
As a recognised speaker, Eloise has shared her insights at international conferences held by the British Educational Research Association, Society for Research into Higher Education, Global Business School Network, and the Association of MBAs.
Eloise’s ability to translate research into effective educational practices is recognised by her peers, as seen in the testimonials below.
